Rublev Lemon Ochre is a light, transparent yellow earth made from iron oxide hydroxide (goethite, α-FeOOH), the principal colouring agent in natural yellow ochres. Unlike red ochres, yellow ochres contain water in their mineral structure, which gives them their distinctive soft warmth and natural clarity. This lemon ochre grade is valued for its gentle yellow tone, subtle undertones, and easy mixing into naturalistic palettes.

Lemon Ochre is semi-transparent with low tinting strength and fair covering power, making it ideal for glazing, atmospheric underpainting, and warming mixes without overpowering other colours. It is especially useful for sunlit landscape passages, natural skin undertones, soft highlights, and building luminous layers where you want a clean, earthy yellow rather than a synthetic bright. With titanium white it creates creamy straw and pale sandstone tints that remain grounded and believable.
