A2 Student Acrylics
A2® Art Students' Acrylics are specially designed for the needs of students, beginners or hobby painters who wish to avoid the expense of buying artists colours, especially during the earlier stages when they are learning how to handle paint.
A good student's paint needs to be:
1. As strongly pigmented as an artist's quality paint.
2. The same in its consistency and handling as an artist's quality paint.
A2 acrylics meet this definition very effectively and are competitively priced because we have used student quality pigments.
Chroma's A2 Art Students' Acrylics are perfectly suited to be used with the Atelier® Range of Painting Mediums & Varnishes.
The choice of colours in a range like this is important. The 20 colours in the A2 range are what we believe to be the "basics" which need to be used and understood before exploring more specialised and extended artists ranges such as Atelier, Golden or Liquitex.
The 20 colours in the A2 range have been carefully matched to colours in the Atelier Professional Artists' Quality range, so that experience in colour mixing gained by learning with A2 is not lost.
Atelier Absolute Matte
A genuinely new kind of paint
Absolute Matte provides an opportunity to create a new genre of painting with unique optical effects. Paints with a matte finish are usually a little dull – Absolute Matte has a vividly, vibrantly matte surface which enhances colour. Neither a gouache nor an acrylic, it opens up totally new areas for exploration · It dilutes delicately for washes. It can be built up in layers. It remains workable for as long as it is kept moist, because it does not form a skin as it dries (a water atomiser keeps it workable).
It is very aesthetically pleasing to use for anyone who likes water based media effects, but has the advantage of being overpaintable for alterations or subtle layering effects. It is totally unlike acrylics to work with, yet it has the acrylic sturdiness and flexibility to permit large major works on paper or canvas, or it can be used for the smaller “works on paper” which many painters like to show with other larger works. It is ideal for outdoor sketching, even in difficult dry Australian conditions, provided that a stay-wet palette is used. A great addition to your Art Supplies.

Derivan Brush & Finger Paints
If you are choosing what paints to use for 3-5 year olds, you will need to consider more than just the price.
Brush & Finger Paint have been formulated with young children in mind.
The colours are bright, and intermixable, as well as being safe.
When children are young, paint doesn't always end up where it is meant to go.
Paint will end up on clothes, despite aprons. It will end up on the floor, despite drop cloths, and when you're not looking, it will end up in young children's mouths.
Obviously Brush & Finger Paint are not designed to be eaten - but kids will be kids, so the formula for Kids Kolors has been built on food starch, just in case.
Brush & Finger Paint are easy to clean up off children's clothes as they have been formulated so that they swell up and release when soaked in cold soapy water.
In addition to 10 basic colours, there are also 5 glitter paints, ideal for creating gifts for special occasions.

Do not use on persons with sensitive skin or skin conditions. Do not apply to open wounds. Avoid contact with eyes, nasal passages, mouth or other orifices as abrasive irritation may occur.
Tim's tips and tricks of the trade
Hairspray can be used to coat the hair before applying body paint. Hairspray can also be sprayed over the completed body painting to prevent rubbing or flaking over long periods. Avoid eyes and mouth when spraying.
Olive Oil can be applied with a spray atomizer over the body paint to give a silky shine or you can mix it with the metallic paint on the second coat to make it really glossy. Apply the first coat of paint without olive oil.
